What is Automotive Grade Leather?

Auto Leather is more durable than furniture-grade leather because it goes through different tanning and finishing processes. In a car, leather is subjected to constant UV rays, which means it needs to have a UV resistant coating applied to it. Leather also releases gases over time (off-gassing), which isn't a problem with furniture leather but causes condensation on windows in cars if it isn't properly treated.
